Training at the London School of Facepainting |
London School of Face Painting Classes are held at 34 Craven Road Paddington London W2 3QA. It is a short walk from Paddington tube and mainline station. There is also a good bus service to Paddington Station making access very easy. The classes start at 10.30am and go through to 3.30pm with a short break for lunch. You can bring sandwiches or make use of one of the many cafes close by. Classes are £90 per day unless otherwise indicated.
The Principal Tutors are World Champion Facepainter Bibi Freeman and Caro Childs with additional tutors as required, including Christine Mavromatis. We have a high tutor student ratio with two tutors and up to just eight students, so students get lots of individual attention and hands on experience. The School focus is on individual tuition and encourages development of your personal style while demonstrating proven techniques. We have had a high success rate with many of our students developing into excellent working painters that we maintain contact with and continue to support.
To find out more about the classes on offer go to 'Class Descriptions' in the menu or click here.Look at the 'Class calendar' for upcoming dates. You can book classes online or email us with the dates you want to pay by cheque. Or book a class online Places are only confirmed with payment in full. Useful information here! Lately it seems that lots of facepainters have taken up offering 'training'. Being able to paint well does not necessarily mean they have analyzed how it is done and are able to explain the technique, even if they have been trained by us, as many of them have been! Look carefully at the tutor /student ratio. Most try to teach up to 10 people at a time with one teacher to maximize income, this means you are unlikely to get personal attention and gain little more than by buying a book to copy from. We are dedicated to helping each student to achieve as much as possible every time they come to one of our classes.
Each day is themed, but we do not try to offer lots of different designs in each class, preferring that you perfect the techniques that will enable you to design your own favorites, or be inspired by others’. All classes include working on perfecting brush techniques and applying paint with a sponge. Cats, demonstrated for "Introduction to Facepainting."
