If you're not sure what you need to set up we have collated detailed information on the facepainting kits available at Facepaint UK. All are based on the Grimas stacking system that keeps your set up neat and tidy, and can be built upon if you find you fall in love with facepainting, as so many do. We are called, variously, facepainting addicts, tackle tarts and worse. Bibi for example has been called a Trophy Whore by Mark Reid. No hard feelings then :) All the kits are less than buying the ingredients separately, and the bag is free! We don't put rubbish brushes in our kits, proper brushes are important, and not cheap. All contain water-based paints suitable for painting on children. In general, we do not recommend that children under 3 years old have their faces painted. NOTE! Grimas have made changes to some of their 2.5ml palettes - until we can photograph everything all over again some of the pictures are not 100% accurate. For exact colours see the listing for the palettes in the shop.
Where bags are no longer available; we have reduced the price of the kit to reflect this.
Our very basic kits are enough for you to paint at one or two events, with some left over for playing later. Grimas paints are highly pigmented so you don't need a thick covering of paint to get fantastic bright colours and coverage. All of our kits include a spray bottle, you will get far superior results if you spray your sponges to dampen them. Facepaint UK wedge sponges are best used on the rounded side.
THE BARE MINIMUM
This just has a 6 colour palette of 2.5ml of each colour, 6 sponges, a spray bottle and 3 brushes in a useful presentation bag (not as illustrated). It will do if you only want to do simple designs. Just £20.
THE BASIC KIT 
A palette of 12 x 2.5ml useful Grimas colours, 8 sponges, a spray bottle and 3 brushes. It will do if you only want to do simple designs, and will probably paint at least 50 faces. You will run out of black and white first! Now in a clear zipped bag. Just £30.
GET STARTED 
This is the 6 colour palette of matt colours, and a 6 colour palette of the Pearlised colours, especially useful for pretty faces and on darker skin. Also 8 sponges, a spray bottle and 3 brushes and the ever useful Usborne book Starting Face Painting to help you on your way with designs and techniques. Only £38.
THE BASIC PLUS 
If you feel that the basic kits aren't quite exciting enough, but you're still on a budget, this is both the basic 12 colour palette and the 12 colour Pearlised palette, 12 sponges, a spray bottle, a small mirror and some Rainbow Glitter. This is popular with our students that are starting out as it gives a good selection of colours and you can add 15ml pots which clip onto the trays as these tiny ones run out. £54.50. If you've already decided you're serious about facepainting, this is a good starting point. You will want to build on this selection, but it includes the popular colours that we use at our London School of Facepainting classes. Featuring 9 useful full size 15ml matt colours and 3 Pearlised colours, a greater number of sponges (20) and brushes (8), a spray bottle and mirror it's enough to start you off in the rewarding world of professional painting. £72. ON THE MOVE 
This
one features all the Grimas taster palettes, you can add to these as you
discover your favourite colours, the larger Grimas 15ml size clip onto
the same trays. This is the ideal way to develop as a face painter,
your kit grows with you! It is also the business as a second kit when
space is limited and you are expected to set up on a handkerchief, or
